You always hate to hear the use of stereotypes, especially when they apply to your background. But after thinking about it, they almost can’t be avoided. Its like looking for a movie to watch without paying attention to the poster with the clever tag line. I think as humans we naturally use preconceived notions to try to predict and understand. The most popular example of this is the dreaded “Job Interview”. You know the second you walk into that office everybody there is studying you and analyzing you. The lame belief that the interviewers are the most unbiased people incapable of judgement is annoying. I think we should understand that stereotypes are unavoidable, but ignorance is avoidable and the two are very different.
