No one is born with hatred or intolerance

I think the label (or Scarlet Letter) of racism thrown about at every opportunity for what equates to hideous behavior of any kind regardless of color or ethnicity keeps racism itself alive and well in any society — here in the U.S. or in any country.

Until people simply bear responsibility for themselves, and pay the consequences for their behavior — their individual actions, race will ALWAYS be considered a factor until that excuse is taken out of the equation.

We give lip service to “the content of their character rather than the color of their skin”, but how few actually are willing to stand by that when the race card can be used to offer an excuse or provide a suddenly indefensible attack?

If one must continue to hyphenate who they are (i.e., African-American, Native-American, Asian-American…blah blah blah) instead of “American”…that little hyphen can only perpetuate a division, not a unity.
