Tough love

My friend of 20 years brother got married last weekend, in New York.  He didn’t get married there because that was a place he desired to get married at, it was because he is gay, and gay marriage is not allowed to happen in Ohio.  That is one of the most ridiculous things to me because it doesn’t make sense how they are not allowed to get married in Ohio, so they have to go out of state, but then they are allowed to come back and live their married life here.  I don’t understand what the issue of a gay wedding is.  I feel like it is hard enough to find the “right” one who you want to spend your life with, there doesn’t need to be other complicated factors involved.  Who cares if he is attracted to another male.  This law made the whole wedding more difficult because each of their families had to travel to New York for the wedding and spend extra money on gas and on a hotel.  However, her brother didn’t let it bother him and still was happy as can be to marry his soul mate. I read a funny quote that I found to be rather appropriate… “I support gay marriage. I believe they have a right to be as miserable as the rest of us.”
